The Bible clearly says that one day there will be a world leader, and he will be called the Antichrist. Bible calls this person various names: The Antichrist, The Beast, the son of Perdition or the evil one. However, there will not only be one individual that will be called the Antichrist, but there is already a demonic stronghold called the spirit of Antichrist. In 1 John 2:18 we read, “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that theAntichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.” The Antichrist is one person, but the spirit of Antichrist is in many people. This spirit has been operating since the time of the apostles. The word Antichrist means against Christ. It is the spirit that operates in many governments and political organizations in the world today. We see this spirit working all over the world where they are promoting homosexual rights, abortion, Marxism and critical race theory. Left wing liberalism is under the control of this spirit of Antichrist.
This spirit also denies the existence of a triune God, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We read in 1 John 2:22, “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.” Furthermore, this spirit denies that Jesus came two thousand years ago as God manifested in the flesh and died for our sins on the cross. 1 John 4:3 says, “…. every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” Therefore, this is the spirit that controls many of the world religions, especially Islam and Judaism. They all deny that Jesus has come in the flesh.
Characteristics of the person called the Antichrist:
First of all: He will claim to be God and seek to be worshiped: 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4. “ Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sitsas God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” We read in Revelations 13:4, “So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast?”
Secondly: He will blaspheme God: Revelations 13:6. “Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.” In Daniel 7:25 we read that the antichrist “shall speak great words against the most High.” The Antichrist will mock God and blaspheme Him.
Thirdly: He will have miraculous powers: Revelations 13:13. “He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” In 2 Thessalonians 2:9 we read, “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders.”
Fourthly: He will rule by intrigue and flattery: We read about the Antichrist in Daniel 11:31. “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery.” During his first few years he will be admired and even considered to be the saviour to many countries as he rescues them out of financial ruin, just like Hitler did in Germany. He will so deceive the nation of Israel, that they will trust him to make a covenant between them and the Arab nations at the beginning of the Tribulation.
Fifthly, he will be exceptionally cruel and ruthless: The Antichrist will be the cruelest, the most evil and the most powerful political ruler in the history of the world. He will be the very embodiment of Satan. He will be far worse than Hitler, Stalin or any other evil world dictator. We read about him in Daniel 7:19. “Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet.”
Sixthly, the Antichrist will seek to destroy the Jews: One of the goals of the Antichrist will be to conquer Israel and occupy Jerusalem. Daniel 11:41. “He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown:” We see today, that this is the goal of Islamic nations such as Turkey and Iran. In fact the president of Turkey has made his intentions clear, the defeat Israel and occupy Jerusalem. Not only will the antichrist be against Israel, but also against those Middle Eastern nations that are friendly with Israel.
When will the Antichrist appear?
In Daniel 9:24 it says, that there will be seventy weeks, “to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins.” Then in verse 29 it says, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…” Without going into much detail, the seventieth week refers to the seven year Tribulation period. At the beginning of this period the Antichrist will make a covenant with Israel. In the middle of this seven year period, he will then again break this covenant. So the Antichrist will make his appearance at the beginning of the seven year Tribulation period.
From where will the Antichrist appear?
To answer this question we must look at two prophetic words from Daniel, one in Daniel chapter two and the other in Daniel chapter 7. Let us read from Daniel 2:31-35: “You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of]clay. You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.”
Daniel then gives the interpretation of this dream in verses 38-44: “…. you (Babylon) are this head of gold. But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. … (Verse: 44) And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”
To summarize, there will be four kingdoms that will arise on the earth. The gold speaks of Babylon, the silver speaks of the Medes and the Persians and the brass speaks of the third kingdom, Greece under Alexander the Great. However, there is a fourth and last Kingdom that will be at the time of the end. This Kingdom will be destroyed by a stone, (Jesus) which becomes a great mountain (The Kingdom of God) that will fill the whole earth.
Let us now look at the vision that Daniel had in chapter 7. In the vision, Daniel saw four beasts coming out of the sea: A lion, a bear, a leopard and a cruel and terrible beast having iron teeth. This fourth beast devoured and destroyed everything. The interpretation of the dream in Daniel 2 and the vision of the four beasts in Daniel 7 is the same message. The fourth beast and the fourth kingdom are the same.
For example we read in Daniel 2:38, “And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others.” In Daniel 7:19 we read. “(And the fourth beast) exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces…” The fourth kingdom in Daniel chapter two has a similar description as the fourth beast in Daniel chapter 7. In Daniel 7:23 we read. “The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth.”
Many say that the Roman Empire is the fourth kingdom or the fourth beast, but this cannot be so for three reasons: Firstly, this prophecy was centered on the Middle East and especially around Babylon. The Roman Empire never conquered that region and was located west of Babylon. Secondly, the fourth Kingdom “… would break in pieces and crush all the others (other kingdoms).” The Romans did not crush and break all the other Kingdoms. In fact the Roman Empire built roads and helped to develop the countries over which they ruled and gave them a measure of freedom. Thirdly, the fourth kingdom would appear at the end times. The Roman Empire ceased to exist more than 1500 years ago. Then, the question we need to ask is: “What is this fourth Kingdom?”
There is only one group of people that fits the description of this fourth kingdom, and that Islam. Actually the largest and longest lasting empire in world history was the Ottoman Empire, from 1299 to 1922. It conquered and destroyed more countries than any other empire. Islam not only conquered armies, but they also devastated and destroyed the nations they conquered. Islam is not just a religion; it is a political system and an ideology.
We read in Daniel 2:25 “He (the Antichrist) shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.” This is what Islam has done. They have killed more Christians than any other group of people, they change times for they even have their own calendar, and furthermore they blaspheme the name of Jesus. Islam is the strongest manifestation of the spirit of antichrist in the world today. So in answer to the question: “from where will the Antichrist come?” He will emerge from the Muslim world and will probably be a Muslim. So the fourth Kingdom is Islam!
Moreover, the nation of Turkey wants to set up a world Islamic caliphate to be ruled by the caliph of Turkey and do so by 2025. Therefore it is highly probable that the Antichrist will come from Turkey and will probably be the caliph of the new Muslim caliphate, who will be from Turkey. In Ezekiel 38 we read about a prince called Gog, who comes from the land of Magog. Gog is the person, called the Antichrist, and he will be from the land of Magog is in Turkey.
The New World Order:
Many nations are working together behind the scenes to form a global one world government, called the New World Order. For example, one of the organization working towards setting up a New World order is the World Economic Forum, sometimes called the Davos group. This is an organization consisting of the richest people in the world and who control most of the world’s financial institutions. They have set a goal to bring the world under a one world government by 2025 and to be in total control of everything by 2030. They are setting the stage for the One World Government which will be ruled by a man called the Antichrist. One of their strategies is to work through the liberal left and bring about the financial collapse of many countries so that they can introduce their new global financial system. They are especially targeting the USA, by using the progressives in the Democratic Party.
We read in Revelations 13:7-8 we read, “And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Not only will there be a one world government, but there will also be a one world religion that will cause everyone to worship the Antichrist. Furthermore, we read in Revelations 13:16-17. “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has [g]the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” There will also be a one world monetary system. No-one will be able to buy or sell with taking the mark of the beast. The Antichrist will control all the finances of the world.
Already, they have been experimenting with a micro chip that they can inject under the skin of the right hand. This chip contains all the details of the recipient and can be used to perform financial transaction be simply placing ones hand under a scanner. This is already widely used in Sweden and is being promoted all over Europe. One of the greatest tests that Christians will face during the Great Tribulation will be whether or not they will receive the Mark of the Beast. Those who do so, will do so at the cost of losing their salvation. Those who refuse to do so will not be able to buy or sell and will put themselves at the risk of heavy persecution and even martyrdom. The Antichrist will have absolute financial control for the last three and a half years of the Tribulation. We read in Revelations 13:5. “…and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.”
The fall of the Antichrist:
At the end of the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist will gather his armies to attack Israel at the battle of Armageddon. We read about this in Revelations 16:16, “And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew – Armageddon.” At that moment, Jesus, the Rider of the white horse will step on the scene and conquer the army of the Antichrist. In 2 Thessalonians 2:8 we read, “… whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.” We also read about this in the book of Revelations 19:11,15: “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war …Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations.”
Finally, the Antichrist will be judged and thrown into the lake of fire: We read in Revelations 19:20. “Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” We are living in a time of history, where the Antichrist could make his appearance at any moment. He will affect the lives of all of those who will be on the earth at the time of his appearing.
We do not have to fear the Antichrist, for we are part of a Kingdom, much bigger than all the kingdoms of the world. In the end God will win, and the Antichrist will lose. “For the kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of our God and His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever.” (Rev 12:11) Amen
